Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Parlet. Plain language, no traps.

By downloading or using Parlet, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use it — and if you have already paid, ask us for a refund and we will point you at Apple, who hold the money.
What Parlet is
Parlet is an iPhone app that teaches English speakers Spanish and Italian at the same time, through the patterns the three languages share. It is a learning tool. It is not a tutor, not a translator, and not a certification — we do not award CEFR levels or any other qualification.
Parlet is iOS only. There is no Android app and no web version, and this website will not pretend otherwise.
Your account
You need an account, you are responsible for keeping access to it secure, and you must give us a real email address — it is how you get back in. Don’t share an account, and tell us if you think someone else has it. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
Subscriptions, billing, and auto-renewal
Parlet is a paid app with a hard paywall: a subscription is required to use the lessons. There is no free tier and no free trial. We would rather tell you that on the way in than surprise you later.
Subscriptions are sold as weekly or yearly plans. The terms Apple requires us to state plainly:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you chose.
- You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. We cannot do it for you — Apple does not give us that control.
- Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
Current prices are shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy, in your local currency. If we change the price of a plan you are already on, Apple will ask you to agree before it takes effect — a price rise never happens silently.
Refunds
Apple processes every purchase, so Apple handles every refund. Request one through reportaproblem.apple.com or your purchase history. If Apple turns you down and you think that is unfair, email us anyway and we will do what we can — we would rather refund you than keep money you feel was taken.
Restoring purchases
New phone, or reinstalled the app? Use Restore Purchases in the app. Your subscription follows your Apple ID, not the device.
What you may and may not do
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Parlet for learning. Please don’t copy, resell, scrape, or redistribute the lesson content; reverse-engineer the app; try to break into it or anyone else’s account; or use it to build a competing product. The patterns are the world’s — Latin got there first — but the way we teach them is ours.
What we own
The app, this website, the lesson content, the illustrations, and Pico belong to us. Your name and email belong to you; see the Privacy Policy.
Changes to the Service
We will add patterns, situations, and fixes over time, and occasionally remove something that is not working. If we ever discontinue Parlet entirely, we will give you notice and stop billing you.
The necessary caveats
Parlet is provided “as is”. We work hard on accuracy, but we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will make you fluent — that part is you. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot legally be limited. If you are a consumer, you keep every statutory right your country gives you, and nothing in these terms takes those away.
Ending it
You can stop using Parlet whenever you like — cancel in your Apple ID settings and delete your account in the app. We may suspend an account that is breaking these terms or harming other people, and we will tell you why.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the place where Parlet is established, and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country you live in, and you keep the protection of its mandatory consumer laws.
Changes to these terms
If we change them we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, tell you before it takes effect.
